Recurring contamination or unexpected test results in a laboratory may call for investigation of both the room and equipment interiors. VanTsteri provides contamination investigation, vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP) treatment planning and verification support for laboratories, biosafety cabinets, culture equipment and HVAC systems.

Assess locations and contamination pathways

Site conditions, equipment construction, laboratory layout and contamination records inform the assessment of potential locations and pathways. The scope of room treatment and equipment-interior decontamination is defined separately; treating the room does not automatically demonstrate coverage inside equipment.

Match verification to the intended endpoint

Treatment is planned by zone, with process records retained. Chemical indicators (CI), biological indicators (BI), residual testing and environmental microbiological retesting are arranged according to the project scope. Where nucleic-acid contamination is the target, evaluation uses an appropriate method for that target; a BI result alone does not establish nucleic-acid decontamination.

The records support assessment of the conditions for resuming experiments and equipment use. The treatment scope, evaluation approach and conditions for resumption are confirmed jointly for the project.
