Shanghai VanTsteri Sterilization Co., Ltd. has introduced a reagent for preliminary screening of coated steel panels for resistance to vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP) exposure. The screening can inform material selection and the assessment of proposed treatment conditions.

Considering coating compatibility before VHP treatment

Pharmaceutical clean areas and biological laboratories may use VHP for environmental decontamination. Planning also needs to account for the compatibility of coated steel panels with the proposed process. Under certain conditions, panel coatings may develop blistering or other surface damage.

Preliminary material screening provides a reference for evaluating panels and process conditions. It does not replace validation under the actual operating conditions.

When preliminary screening can help

  • Assessing coated steel panels for a new clean area.
  • Reviewing a proposed change to VHP treatment conditions.
  • Supporting an assessment of existing coating damage.

Screening findings should be considered alongside the panel information, the proposed process and the requirements of the site.

Discuss your panels and treatment conditions

VanTsteri provides consultation on site assessment and repair options. To help define the assessment, share the panel specifications or supplier information, photographs of the surfaces and the VHP conditions you intend to use.
